You may not be aware of Ed Bowen or his “nano-
nursery” Opus. You should be! I have had the good
fortune of talking with him and purchasing his very
fine and unusual plants at Trade Secrets. He is the
gardener, garden designer and proprietor of this little
gem in Little Compton, RI, specializing in unusual,
garden worthy, perennials www.opustopiarium.com.
He teaches in the MA Master Gardener program, has
contributed to various publications, and occasionally
lectures.
I think we all like it when a plantsman tells us about
the plants that are new to the trade and those new or
not that he really likes. Ed will do precisely that in a
program on New and Notable Garden Plants which he
describes as a survey of some new introductions and
notable, underused plants for the Northeast.
