15 December 2010   -   Kevin Wilcox Our December speaker will be Kevin Wilcox. Kevin is a horticulturalist with Farmington Valley Nursery. His education comes from many sources: four years of study in horticulture at the State University of New York at Cobleskill, 26 years working at FV Nursery and from countless encounters with customers and like-minded plant people. He currently lives with his wife, Kasia Owczarek, in Bloomfield. He is a member of the Hardy Plant Society and is on the Board of The Connecticut Horticultural Society where he has distinguished himself as an auctioneer at the spring and fall Auctions and as a teacher at various workshops. Why I love my job: new plants, old plants, and the stories I tell. “This will be a slide presentation showcasing trees and shrubs, highlighted by cultural information and stories about the plants or people associated with them.  This will be an interactive program, where I will pick on; I mean, pick out people in the audience and ask them questions.” I am sure that we are in for an entertaining and informative evening.
